  •  SALARY: 23.00 to 25.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 30 to 40 hours per week
  • TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Full time Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift, Overtime, On Call, Flexible Hours, Early Morning, Morning
  • LANGUAGES : English
  • EDUCATION: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. A Health Care Aide May Perform Many Duties, Including :
2. Assisting patients with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing..
3. Providing mobility assistance, such as helping patients with transferring and positioning.
4. Assisting with feeding and meal preparation, considering dietary requirements and restrictions
5. Administering medication as prescribed and monitoring patients’ vital signs.
6. Assisting with light housekeeping tasks, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients.
7. Providing companionship and emotional support to patients, engaging in conversations and recreational activities.
8. Reporting any changes in patients’ condition or concerns to the nursing staff.
9. Documenting patient information and maintaining accurate records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. A Successful Health Care Aide Will Have The Following Qualifications :
2. Customer Service Skill.
3. Knowledge of basic healthcare procedures, infection control, and safety protocols.
4. Compassion and empathy towards patients, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Physical stamina and the ability to lift and assist patients with mobility.
6. Good organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
7. Understanding of patient confidentiality and respect for privacy.

TASKS:

1. Supply and empty bedpans
2. Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse
3. Serve meal trays and feed patients
4. Bathe, dress and groom patients
5. Answer call signals
6. Accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
7. Administer first aid in emergency situations
